Booking Now Open for the 2026–2027 Regional 14–16 Years Development Programme

Swim England South West is delighted to announce that bookings are now open for the 2026–2027 Regional 14–16 Years Development Programme. Following the success of the programme in 2025–2026, which saw around 160 athletes from across the region take part, the programme returns this season with an exciting new format, including a one-day development camp and a 2½-day residential camp.

The South West Short Course Winter Championships 2026 conditions are now available! The Level 2 licensed championships will take place from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th November 2026 at Millfield School.

Invitations Sent for the Regional Development Programme 2026–2027

Invitations have now been sent to swimmers selected for the Swim England South West Regional Development Programme (RDP) 2026–2027. The Regional Development Programme is the second stage of the Swim England Talent Pathway and provides talented 13-year-old swimmers with opportunities to develop their technical, physical and personal skills through high-quality coaching and education delivered by the South West Regional coaching team.

Regional Distance Development Programme – Open Water Camp Success

Thirty athletes attended the second Regional Distance Development Programme Open Water Camp at Lake 86 on 30 May 2026. Supported by John Ferguson and his team, swimmers developed key open water skills and took part in race simulation activities, gaining valuable experience ahead of the Regional Open Water Championships.
