Artistic Swimming

Synchronised Swimming

Artistic Swimming in the Region is working hard to build on the success at elite level by improving the fitness, flexibility and strength of its athletes at all levels.  Regional training days, open to all athletes in the Region, take place at different venues and are led by a top National Coach.

In addition to the training days for all athletes, City of Bristol Swimming Club runs the Beacon Programme for elite athletes selected from Regional clubs.  They host regional Beacon training days - the first rung of the ladder for the England Programme.

There is a national athlete pathway for Artistic Swimming aimed at creating a broader foundation for the sport by increasing the number of Grass Roots programmes and incorporating County and Regional Programmes.

The annual programme includes Competitions and Championships for all levels of swimmers, using pools throughout the large Region.  Multi Regional Age Group Championships are hosted by the South West Region every three years.  It involves swimmers from three Regions – the South West, South East and London Regions.

Artistic Swimming in the Region is managed by a committee which meets three times a year.  The South West Artistic Swimming Manager is Mary Hooper.
