Bristol Penguin Olympic Swimming Club (Penguins) is looking to appoint a swimming coach or teacher to add to our coaching team

Bristol Penguins is a teaching, competitive and fitness swimming club. The club has 470 members and prides itself on offering quality teaching and coaching to meet the needs of a wide range of swimmers. The club is friendly and community based and was Swim England’s club of the year for 2019

We welcome applications from swimming coaches and swimming teachers who wish to develop into swimming coaches. Applicants should hold a level 2 qualification (either teaching or coaching) although we will consider applications from those who hold either the assistant teacher or assistant coach qualification.

The role will involve teaching and coaching a variety of different groups across the club at different pools across Bristol in the week and at weekends as well as supporting swimmers at competitions.

·        An effective communicator with swimmers, colleagues and parents.

This is a part-time role of approximately 15 hours per week. Swimming coaches work as self-employed contractors, and we would expect a swimming coach / teacher for this position to bill in the region of £9,000 to £10,000 – depending on expertise and level of qualification.

A larger role, which includes additional areas of responsibility, could be available for a candidate with the necessary administrative and inter-personal skills.
