South West Waterpolo Inter-County 2019
This year’s Swim England South West Region’s Inter-County Water Polo Tournament was held over two days at Millfield Pool in Street, with all six counties from the region being involved, and over 39 games of water polo were played over the two days in front of the Swim England President, Ian Mackenzie, together with the Region’s President, Mike Coles, and together with the county presidents from Devon, Dorset and Cornwall, Roger Bossom, Les Jessop and Belinda Caslake.
Devon took the honours in the 12 and Under Mixed Team category, securing it with a 16-2 win over Gloucestershire.
Gloucestershire got their revenge by taking the 14 and under mixed team event with a 4-11 victory over Devon. Gloucestershire also won the 16 and under boys competition, again securing victory with a 15-6 win over Devon.
Devon were the victors in the 16 and unders girls competition, beating Gloucestershire 19-12.
Gloucestershire won the 18 and under boys competition, and Ollie Stanley received the trophy from the Swim England President, Ian Mackenzie, assisted by Devon’s President, Roger Bossom.
Devon Ladies, coached by Simon Tomlinson, were the victors in the Senior Ladies, and Devon were also the victors after being Somerset 10-5 in the Senior Men’s Competition.
