National Volunteers Week - Day 2

Today is day 2 of National Volunteers week. Each day this week we would like to showcase and say thanks to  a different volunteer in the Region for their commitment and contribution to volunteering.

Today we are hearing from our Youth Advisory Panel Members, Angharad Larman and Emma Moore.

Hello everyone, my name is Angharad, and I have been a member of Weston- super- Mare SC for eight years. I am thrilled to now be part of Swim England South West Youth Advisory Panel! I have had experience through competitive swimming, volunteering, and becoming a swim teaching assistant, that I hope will provide me with a wide perspective when discussing different topics.

The past year has proved difficult for all sports, especially those water based however I hope we can find ways to keep our club members within aquatics. Being a sports coaching student, I think this is a fantastic opportunity to help out the swimming community. There is still room on the panel for more young individuals so please email jackiehilleard@gmail.com to get involved!

Hi, my name is Emma, I’m 16 and I swim with Bath Dolphin Swimming Club. I’ve been swimming with Dolphins right the way through, from teaching/learn to swim, to junior squad, senior squad and now I’m swimming non-competitively in the SAMs group. In addition to this, I am a volunteer Junior Squad coach and hoping to do my L1 teaching this year. Aside from swimming, I play rugby…. Outside of sport, I love to bake and go on walks with my dog, Blue.

I’m really looking forward to being part of the swim England South West Youth Advisory Panel! Not only am I excited to share my thoughts on the aquatics community, but I’m also interested in hearing other people’s experiences with coaches, galas and other swimmers across all aquatic disciplines.
